Compliance and Technical Assistance
The Office of External Affairs houses the Pollution Prevention, Compliance and Technical Assistance Section (P2CTA). This is a non-regulatory section/program that helps Oklahoma businesses and organizations comply with environmental regulations, prevent pollution, reduce waste, and develop and achieve sustainability goals. P2CTA staff works to provide assistance to ODEQ customers — both regulated and non-regulated — with emphasis on small businesses. Through both training and site assistance visits, P2CTA provides free and confidential assistance to help Oklahoma businesses and organizations comply with state and federal environmental requirements.
P2CTA also administers the Oklahoma Star Incentive Program (OKStar) and Encouraging Conservation in Oklahoma (ECO). These programs offer recognition, support, and training to businesses as they work to improve environmental performance.
- OKStar recognizes businesses and organizations that voluntarily meet and exceed basic standards of environmental responsibility. These facilities achieve and maintain compliance and go beyond the regulations to protect the environment and promote employee safety.
- ECO promotes, educates and encourages sustainable travel in the state. ECO includes education, recognition, and marketing support for tourism industry partners and helps them embrace sustainable travel practices.
