About Us
The primary goal of the Oklahoma Radon Program is to reduce the level of indoor radon in the state of Oklahoma to concentrations less than the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) action level of 4pCi/L. The program responds to telephone inquiries from the public, provides education through public outreach, conducts free indoor radon surveys for schools and provides individualized assistance to homeowners and public agencies concerning all aspects of the indoor radon hazard problem.
There is no Federal or Oklahoma State Regulation that requires radon testing or mitigation. If you test your home, and the test results determine higher levels of radon, you are not required to perform any mitigation to lower those levels. Testing and mitigation of radon levels are voluntary.
The Oklahoma Radon Program focuses its efforts in the following areas:
· Radon awareness (testing and mitigation)
· Public School Testing
· Real Estate Training and Information
· Oklahoma Radon Poster Contest
