Temporary Employment |

DEQ frequently hires temporary employees. Candidates must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED. Temporaries may be hired in a general clerical, technical or professional classification. Technical and/or professional temporaries are generally those who have or are obtaining a degree in a biological science, chemistry, geology, hydrology, physical geography, environmental science, civil, mechanical or chemical engineering, accounting or business/finance, computer science or information technology. A temporary employee may work no more than 999 hours in a twelve month period and no more than forty hours a week. If a temporary employee exhausts the allotted 999 hours before his/her anniversary date is reached, the employee must resign. A temporary employee may be placed on student status if enrolled in the required number of credit hours. If interested in a temporary position e-mail a resume to DEQ recruitment e-mail. Resumes will remain on file for 6 months at a time, and an updated resume must be submitted for continued consideration. |
