Please review the following instructions to determine which options are available when applying for DEQ positions.  If you do not meet one of the following categories you cannot apply directly to DEQ.  Instead, you must use the Office of Personnel Management job application system to be considered for this agency’s positions.

A Step by Step Guide to How to Apply for State of Oklahoma Jobs

Current Classified State Employees
Current employees of the State of Oklahoma may be eligible to apply directly to DEQ for most positions using the OPM Form 4B.  Employees in a probationary status and those who do not have reinstatement eligibility, are not eligible to apply directly to this agency for most positions.

Reinstatement Rights
Employees with reinstatement eligibility can apply directly to DEQ using the OPM Form 4B.  If employees are unsure about their reinstatement eligibility, they may contact the Oklahoma Office of Personnel Management at (405) 521-2171.

Background Investigation
No job is offered until the applicant has successfully passed a criminal background check.

Verification of Employment Eligibility
Federal immigration law requires all employers to verify both the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States.  This agency participates in the E-Verify Program established by the Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration.  Participation in the program by DEQ does not exempt this agency from the obligation to complete a Form I-9 for all employees hired by DEQ.  During the enrollment process, all new hires are required to provide proof of identity and employment eligibility.
