| Toxics Categories |
A
Substances of high toxicity, including suspect and confirmed
human carcinogens. Highly toxic substances are substances
with an acute toxicity of either
oral LD50 rat
less than or equal to 50mg/kg
inhalation LC50 rat 4-hr
less than or equal to 100ppm
dermal LD50 rabbit
less than or equal to 100mg/kg
B
Substances of moderate toxicity. Moderately toxic substances
are substances which have been demonstrated to produce carcinogenic,
mutagenic, or teratogenic action in a single animal species
with little or no human evidence of carcinogenic, mutagenic,
or teratogenic action, or those chemicals having an acute
toxicity of either
oral LD50 rat
greater than 50mg/kg, but less than 500mg/kg

inhalation LC50 rat 4-hr
greater than 100ppm, but less than 1000ppm
dermal LD50 rabbit
greater than 100mg/kg, but less than 500mg/kg
C
Substances of low toxicity. Substances of low toxicity are
substances which have been shown to produce low toxicity or
irritation, or those chemicals having an acute toxicity of
either
oral LD50 rat
greater than 500mg/kg, but less than 5000 mg/kg
