A. OAC 252:100-31 CONTROL OF EMISSION OF SULFUR COMPOUNDS [AMENDED]

In addition to amendments made to meet the Agency’s re-right/de-wrong initiative, new definitions are proposed in Section 2. The Department proposes to revoke Section 3 on performance testing, subsection 25(a) for new sulfuric acid plants, and subsection 25(d) for nonferrous smelters.  The ambient air concentration limits for sulfur dioxide in Section 12 and subparagraph 26(a)(2)(B) would be revoked and the ambient air concentration limits for hydrogen sulfide in Section 14 and paragraph 26(b)(1) would be relaxed. The emission level for the exemption from the requirement to install sulfur recovery equipment would be relaxed.

RULE RECOMMENDED TO AUGUST 21, 2001 ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY BOARD

B.      OAC 252:100-7-15(c)     PERMITS FOR MINOR FACILITIES [AMENDED] 

Revisions are proposed to provide coverage under a general permit through the filing of a notice of intent (NOI) when allowed by the specific general permit.  Coverage under the general permit would be effective upon receipt of the NOI.

The Department is considering an increase in the annual operating fees.
