Laboratory Accreditation

A number of files linked from this page require Adobe Acrobat to view

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality operates the laboratory accreditation program to insure the quality of analytical data received by the DEQ Water Quality Division and other state agencies for compliance and decision making purposes. Our goal is to provide standards for accreditation of privately and publicly owned laboratories for performance of analyses of water, wastewater and sludge.

Laboratories are accredited to do general water quality, sludge testing, and drinking water analyses. A laboratory may not be accredited to perform all the possible parameters offered for accreditation. To verify that a laboratory is currently accredited for a particular parameter, please e-mail David Caldwell or call him at (405) 702-1039.

WHAT'S NEW

Effective July 1, 2009 the Laboratory Accreditation Rules OAC 252:301, laboratory accreditation fees will increase based on section 301-1-9(d).  Because the certification fiscal year runs from September 1, 2009 to August 31, 2010, the renewal invoice reflects those fee increases that will become on effective July 1, 2009.

All laboratories must complete a new laboratory accreditation application found on the DEQ laboratory accreditation webpage. There will be no short application due to new accreditation software.  All laboratories must fill in the initial application form and appropriate category(s) field(s).  Please print and mail in with your payment along with the remittance copy of the renewal invoice.

The application for the general water quality program has now been broken into matrixes.  Please fill in the appropriate matrixes.  Laboratories may choose either matrix or both for the analyte/method selected.
