Dayton Tire (a division of Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc.) is a large manufacturer (approximately 1800 employees) of automobile tires. This facility has made pollution prevention an integral part of its operations and committed substantial resources in the area of environmental management.. The management established ambitious goals and recognized that to attain these goals would require "changing the way we do business".



Many changes have contributed to operating the facility in the most economically feasible manner. Some of the changes are:
