Oklahoma Clean Diesel

FY10 State Clean Diesel Grant Program

For 2010, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality is expanding the currently-existing grant program targeting school bus replacements and retrofits to encompass other sectors within the state of Oklahoma. The funds will be used for various projects to reduce diesel emissions and improve fuel efficiency. Potential projects may include, but not be limited to, idle reduction technologies, cleaner fuel use, aerodynamic technologies and the repower, retrofit, or replacement of diesel vehicles and equipment throughout the state. Eligible vehicles may include school buses, municipal fleets (city buses, refuse vehicles, etc), commercial transportation vehicles (trucks, barges, etc) and off-road equipment (agricultural and construction machinery, boats, etc). The grant funds will be for the purchase and installation of EPA- or CARB- verified crankcase ventilation systems, diesel oxidation catalysts, and/or diesel particulate filters, engine repowers or vehicle replacements and other certified/verified clean diesel or fuel efficiency technologies.

The ODEQ has approximately $200,000 available in grant funds.
