Easy Ways to Improve Air Quality

Reducing the amount of electricity we use decreases the amount of fossil fuels that are burned. When fossil fuels are burned, carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen
dioxide (NO2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2) are released into the air. The processing of fossil fuels supplies the majority of the United States with its electricity.

Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs and remember to turn the lights off when not in use.

Adjust the thermostat--higher in the summer and lower in the winter. Existing thermostats can also be replaced by programmable thermostats which can significantly reduce energy costs.
